Nourish Intimate Skin Moisturizer 101: Why, when and how to use

Introducing Nourish Intimate Skin Moisturizer, a clean, oil-based formula to help gently moisturize intimate skin and soften pubic hair.

Like the rest of the Bloomi Essentials line, Nourish is formulated with clean ingredients from our Yes List, which means it’s free from parabens, phthalates, glycerin, dyes, synthetic fragrances and ingredients that disrupt intimate skin. We’re breaking down why, when and how you can benefit from using an intimate skin moisturizer in your intimate care routine.

Ingredients and benefits

Familiar with that burning or itchy feeling from a fresh shave or wax? Nourish’s formula will help soothe and moisturize the skin while also preventing potential infection(s). Nourish contains plant-based ingredients like neem oil and castor oil, which work together to prevent yeast infections and promote healthy hair growth.

  • Organic coconut oil nourishes skin and relieves dryness.

  • Sesame oil is a natural anti-inflammatory that alleviates dryness and helps prevent yeast infections.

  • Organic castor oil softens pubic hair and promotes healthy hair growth.

  • Organic neem oil is antibacterial, which helps prevent yeast infections and is rich in fatty acids that soothe the skin post-hair removal.

Nourish Intimate Skin Moisturizer

Explore our clean, oil-based formula to gently moisturize intimate skin and soften pubic hair.

Why

Similar to the skin on our face and body, our intimate skin experiences dryness and irritation. Intimate skin moisturizers are designed to moisturize external skin, such as the outer labia, and soothe dryness or irritation from daily activities, like exercise, tight clothing, sex or even friction from toilet paper.

We wanted to create a simple yet versatile formula packed with plant-based ingredients that work together to promote overall intimate skin health. Nourish Intimate Skin Moisturizer has a balm-like texture and light cocoa butter aroma that melts down to an oil when massaged into the skin.

When

Though anyone can use Nourish wherever and whenever, it’s commonly used post-shower, post-sex and post-hair removal. If you have sensitive skin, are prone to pH imbalance or remove pubic hair on a regular basis, a moisturizer will be a perfect addition to your intimate care routine. Nourish is worth a try if you relate to any of the following:

  • You are prone to inflammation post-hair removal.

  • You are prone to pH imbalances and get yeast infections or BV frequently.

  • You have dry, sensitive skin.

  • You feel itchy (not from infection) down there on a daily basis.

How

The first step before using any product on your skin, whether that’s all over or your intimate areas, is to test it on a patch of skin to avoid potential skin reactions. Once you’ve done this, melt a dime-size between your fingertips until it’s smooth; then apply Nourish to external intimate skin, like the outer labia, penis, testicles or anus.

If using post-shower, apply Nourish while your skin is damp. This will help your skin absorb all the moisture and rich ingredients. Nourish is intended to be used on external intimate skin but can also be used as an all-over body moisturizer. For example, our co-founder Rebecca Alvarez Story likes to keep it accessible on her desk or in her purse as a hand moisturizer.
